SunState Solar provided a seamless process from the initial appointment, through design of the system, installation and finally getting all of the approvals to operate the system. We are very happy with the clean installation. The design of the solar installation optimized the positioning of the equipment on one wall of our garage. We have been pleased with the power produced by the solar panels, which exceeded our expectations. We would recommend SunState Solar and Glenn Felty to anyone looking to install a solar system.

Highly recommended.SunState designed the perfect system to meet our needs at a good price with quality long-life panels and inverter, installation, free monitoring, and good warrenty. A completely knowedgable and friendly staff. They explained everything so I could understand. I recommend watching Glenn's video. I figured my return on investment to be between 7-9 years (not including property appreciation). They couldn't guarantee a timeline because of the external reviews not within their control. For this project from signing to the approval to operate was under 2 months--just in time to include the credit in my 2024 taxes. The work included a new roof under the panels--their contractor finished within 1 week. Complex paperwork they submitted to PNM and the NM Energy Dept was timely and flawless allowing quick approvals. (Good on PMN and NM gov't offices too). After approvals, they got my electrical up to code and completed the installation. The Bernco Inspectors (who were also very professional and timely) signed off first time out.SunState filled in the forms for the NM Certificate of Eligibility (COE) which I got back within 2 weeks. For my part, in Turbo Tax the federal solar part was very easy to do. For my category of solar, the NM part requires you attach pdfs of the COE and a form TRD-41406 which is fairly easy. Finally, the system produces as designed. My roof actually looks better with the panels on it. The solar app was easy to download and I love using it to track my daily production! It's addictive. An all-around win for the environment and economically.

Glenn at Sun State was a pleasure to work with. He and his team laid out the process and timeline. They kept me informed all along the way concerning milestones. When it became time to install, two crews came ready to work. The crew that installed the panels worked as a team to quickly install panels which was not easy in late August. My cabling was ran through my roof and into my crawl space so the heat was blistering. In only a few hours their work was done. I did not want to see conduit ran across my roof. While that crew installed, the connection crew was busy doing the prep work so that when the cabling was supplied, the connections could be made as efficiently as possible.the connections crew stayed until the job was done. In one day these people worked hard to complete the work. The finished product looks very professional and organized. Their work received green tags from the inspector on the first attempt.I am very happy with the relationship that Glenn began and the installation crews finished. It was important to me to spend my money locally with a company that has skin in the game and a reputation to uphold. Sun State Solar lived up to their commitments and I recommend them highly. If it’s important to you to spend money in New Mexico with a company that works diligently to provide excellent communication and product, then you too will be happy with your experience.

The SunState crew was punctual, professional, efficient and hardworking. Especially Tiger and Dillon. They made sure the installation was done properly and the jobsite clean when they left. Great job!

This is the second purchase I've made from SunState Solar. The first being a solar system setup. This most recent, a battery backup. Jayson and Alex have been magnanimous throughout the whole process, keeping me informed, returning consistently to follow through on the original design and assuring any minor issues are fixed and everything was kosher and complete to the end. As Jayson likes to put it, at the end of every project, they want to make sure that final visit when it passes inspection and is turned on, is the final time we ever see each other as it's done and working properly. I appreciate the professionalism and focus. They do monitor and check in from time to time to make sure. Probably because they're local and really see the community as important. As the owner Glenn loves to say, he got into the business to try to make a difference, and it's not petty words, he is very committed, as is his staff. I do feel like it's a solid partnership. Nevermind they're very fair with pricing, and they use reputable finance companies, for anyone looking into solar, stay with local companies, and I highly recommend SunState.

The Service Manager, Ian, from SunState Solar came to my house to help me get my WiFi reconnected to my system, since Sunpower and their local affiliate are both out of business now. I've had my system for 10+ years and have never had any other issues but this WiFi connection has been a problem for a while. Ian was a total pro and had my issue resolved in short order! I strongly recommend SunState Solar for your warranty monitoring and/or service needs if your solar provider has left the market or is no longer in business.

We had solar panels installed a few years ago the the company that installed them went bankrupt. Our panels were not inspected by Bernalillo County and they cancelled the permit and put a lien on our house. SunState Solar came to our rescue. Ashlea handled everything for us from having new engineering drawings produced to shepherding the process through the county. The GREAT news is that our panels are now inspected and SunState is now monitoring them for us. Ashlea provides stellar customer service and I highly recommend SunState solar for all your solar needs. Thank you!!

A very positive experience working with SunState solar.Everything went smoothly from the start of the process working with Colleen in sales, the design team, owner Glen, and finally the installation. The whole team kept me informed about the process every step of the way and delivered on everything that was promised. Following installation, I was kept informed about the permitting process until that was complete. Once permitting was complete and we were up and running I was then provided guidance on obtaining the certification to file for state and federal rebates. Solar credit began to accumulate with the system up and running and with just a couple of months of service our PNM bill dropped to just a service charge of under $5.00/month. Thank you SunState solar

Wanted to take time to thank Glenn and his wonderful company and employees for their work on our solar panels. We never owed more than the PNM $4.77 throughout the summer---They gave us exactly what we needed, no headaches, no delays, and amazing assistance with the tax credit(s).Thank you. So happy we did it with SunState Solar!!! 100% Recommended

This very hands-on engineer gives Sun State Solar 5 stars and a hearty recommendation! After a lot of study, I finally committed to my first home solar system. I chose Sun State after finding they were close by and after paying them a visit. I found a 'boutique' level of installer, not too big, not too small, with great reviews. We wanted a battery-backup solar system, because what's the point of investing in solar if you can't get power from your solar system if the power is off? With energy storage in batteries, our system will kick over to the house being powered by the batteries and the inverter... in milliseconds.By adding batteries, the requirements of and scrutiny by PNM increased. Sun State dealt patiently with them, even when they were sometimes being unreasonable. We had a very good system design, but were forced fall back on a system that PNM was more familiar with. Both good systems, so it worked out.Regarding system design, I chose 'whole-house' over 'critical-load.' The two options are wired differently. The latter would have required a third breaker panel on top of my existing two. Also, with my electrical experience, I wanted to manage battery-solar loads myself, either by not using certain appliances, or by turning off breakers so they can't be used.A method I have used before is to put a black dot with a Sharpie by every breaker that represents a minimum capability when the power goes off. That way I can shut off everything but the minimum critical loads in a power-down situation, then later add or subtract loads as desired.PNM required a separate recording meter, but that turned out to be a nice feature as it counts up the solar system's kWh contribution and display's that separately, grid up or down. We're pleased with the hardware we ended up with: Solar Edge inverter, Solar Edge automatic disconnect, and Solar Edge batteries. High quality, not 'budget', hardware. The Solar Edge app is also very good at collecting and displaying data, and providing alerts. When the Bernalillo County inspector came, I was there both times, and he said when I said, "These guys are good!", "Yes, they did a really nice job."Photos of roof hardware, panel array, etc, not provided so as to not disclose location.

I've been a full-time REALTOR® in Albuquerque for 9 years, and I haven't known a good solar inspection company until now! SunState Solar did a great job inspecting the solar panels and equipment that were installed by a company that went out of business. The report we got was very thorough. Thankfully the system is still working well for my friends who are buying the property, but some maintenance is needed, and Ian explained all that and was very helpful. Thanks!

We knew very little about installing rooftop solar when we started considering a rooftop system. We ended up seeking numerous bids from both in-state and out of state providers. We are extremely happy that we chose SunState to install our system and do an electrical upgrade. From start to finish the entire team was professional, extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Glen was very helpful at the start when we were seeking bids. His bid was reasonable and fair and we were very happy to be able to select a local provider that could offer responsive and dependable service and first rate products. The installation team of Jayson, Alex and Ian were happy to answer all our questions and concerns and were genuinely excited about helping us however they could. They went out of their way to get our project completed. Finally when it came to the paperwork and getting the tax credit application completed Ashlea was able to oversee the entire process and guide us through a fairly complicated process. We whole heartedly recommend SunState to go solar. Pat and John/Santa Fe
